Camelback Ventures invites you to join our 2020 Local Economies Fellows as they present their impactful ventures with scalable solutions to New Orleans and beyond.
WHO
These four ventures represent local small business owners who embody our dedication to workforce and economic development in our backyard - New Orleans. The winner will receive a $20,000 investment from CBV to support their conscious tech venture.
WHAT
Fellows will present their 4-minute pitches in front of an intimate group of key attendees. There will be time for feedback and Q&A from our valued stakeholders - you! During this time, you will provide constructive, loving feedback directly to our Fellows in order to improve their pitch and business model. With your help, Fellows will accelerate their venture to create more liveable communities.
WHY
Given the caliber of these entrepreneurs and relevance of their ventures to this new and evolving time, we hope this will be the first of many opportunities for you to get to know them and the communities they serve.
The New Orleans-based entrepreneurs who will be competing include Charon Flowers Maple + Spencer Davis of Bypass Line; Greg Harris of Meusu; Myra Barnes of Dollar Pot; and Shakeia Kegler of GovLia. These founders represent Camelback Ventures’ 2020 Local Economies Fellows who have pivoted and revisioned their ventures due to the mounting challenges of the past year including racial injustice, the global pandemic, and national recession. They have not given up in the face of continued adversity, and Camelback Ventures applauds them for their perseverance, passion, and unwavering drive.
We tackle the inequities of entrepreneurship by providing coaching, capital, and connections to underrepresented entrepreneurs. We work with our Fellows towards the ultimate goal of creating great schools and prosperous, livable communities for all families.
